Why choose Buckinghamshire New University?

We have a bustling business department with lots of expertise. All our business courses cross over, with some modules being shared across the degrees. We believe in breaking down barriers and giving our students every opportunity to expand their network while with us. With smaller, more intimate class sizes, we give our students one-to-one teaching and around-the-clock support. Being so close to London gives us some amazing industry links, giving you the chance to gain experience in the real world. Our focus on real life experience gives you that competitive edge when heading into employment.

Make the most of our industry links

Our focus on recreating the industry on campus gives a boost to your employability. Some of the companies we have worked with include Initials, Jargon PR, Medico, Mindshare, Primal, Scannappeal and Simpler PR. We have a strong practical element to our business courses with live briefs that our friends in the industry trust our students with. We’ve had students consulting major companies and helping start ups to get their businesses on the move.

Learn about Business from well-seasoned experts in management

Our lecturers have extensive industry and academic experience. They’ll help you mix theory with practice, informing your teaching with their knowledge. We attract many guest speakers, including former students who share their business acumen. We make sure that you’ll always know about the latest trends in the world of business. We run a Bizfest every year, where successful business leaders come to Bucks to share their thoughts on business ventures and the future of their industries.

Modules

This module map provides a list of the modules that make up your course.

Each module is worth a specified number of credits (typically either 15 or 30 credits for undergraduate courses). Compulsory (or ‘core’) modules cover key subject knowledge, while ‘option’ modules enable you to develop your own interests. For a full-time course you must take modules worth a total of 120 credits at each level of the course. The number of option modules you can take depends on the number of compulsory modules at each level. You can find more information about how your course is structured via the Academic Advice pages.

Our teaching is informed by research and employer requirements, and modules change periodically to reflect developments in the subject area. In addition, where we have insufficient numbers of students interested in an option module, this may not be offered. If an option module does not run, we will advise you as soon as possible and help you choose an alternative module.
