This MSc is focused on the role of project management in a global business environment. You will learn how to put theory into practice and blend academic and practical study. You will learn about multifaceted business environments that will require project managers to bring together resources, skills, technology and ideas to achieve business objectives. You will also learn how to these objectives whilst also operating multiple project constraints of scope, budget, time and quality requirements.
This MSc focuses on the ability to make reasoned decisions on programme and project management strategies that are based on ethical and professional standards that are in the best interest of the project, the organization, the environment, and society.
You will critically evaluate and apply research methods to an original investigation into a specific project management problem, demonstrating the ability to analyse data and critically evaluate information from a range of sources towards a pragmatic and evidence-based application.
The module Managing Agile Projects is aligned to the AgilePM Foundation Exam, so upon successful completion you will be well equipped with the knowledge needed to pass the professional qualification should you choose to sit it. The professional qualification exam is not compulsory and there is an additional fee for those who choose to sit. Part of the assessment for the module is an online test which is a simulation of the AgilePM exam and so you will have opportunities to test yourself.
However our module, Managing Agile Projects, goes beyond the teaching of foundation level whereby the module is run in an agile manner. The actual organisation of the module is immersive and mimics an agile team using language, artefacts and structure of agile so that students appreciate the nature of an agile operation.
Roehampton Business School will invite practitioners to share their projects with you, adopting a case study approach to studying project success as well as offering a choice either to complete a dissertation or consultancy project as a final piece of study.
