For an all-round business education try a Business Administration degree. Coventry has one of the largest business schools in Europe.
Aimed at students who have a passion for business and an aptitude for organisation and management, this degree prepares students for a wide range of roles in the dynamic international business environment. It offers a solid grounding in core business and then allows the flexibility to specialise in key areas.
We offer an outstanding student experience – achieving 100% satisfaction overall and with both the teaching and enthusiasm of lecturers in the latest National Student Survey (NSS). Our students benefit from opportunities to study, work and visit in UK and overseas organisations, developing a useful range of professional skills that are attractive to future employers.
The course reflects business thought and practice with an emphasis, where appropriate, on the application of theory to real business situations, challenges and issues.
Case studies will be used to give you an in-depth understanding of how the different parts of an organisation support one another. Previously, for example, students have considered the project management issues involved with festivals like Glastonbury, the ethical concerns in the supply chains of cut flowers and the challenges of managing mega-events, such as the Olympic Games.
Why choose this course?
With 5,000 students and 300 staff, Coventry Business School is one of the largest in Europe, rated as ‘excellent’ by Eduniversal and ranked 18th in the UK for Business, Management and Marketing by the Guardian University Guide 2019. We are active members of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS), as well as being signatories to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN PRME) initiative.
Our students are attracted by the flexibility of the course, which provides an excellent grounding in the key areas of business, such as finance, human resource management, strategy, supply chain management and marketing, but then allows you to specialise as you progress depending on your interests and career aspirations, whether these relate to human resources, marketing, finance or supply chains, for example. Alternatively, you can choose to continue to study across the range of the functional areas of business.
International experience opportunities
The course has a diverse student body, as well as faculty from over 100 countries represented in the Business School, providing a multinational learning environment. We also have dedicated teams to help promote and support internship, study and work abroad planning; students are encouraged to consider these opportunities from the moment they join the Business Administration programme.
The structure of the course, the experiences and support made available to you are all designed with a view to developing the skills, competencies and understanding necessary to contribute in the rapidly changing work environment.
Whether you require support and guidance in relation to long or short-term placement desires, or the needs and expectations of external employers, we have employability and careers tutors as well as your own academic personal tutor on hand to help you make these decisions and develop your own career plan.
The flexibility of the degree means that you can shape it as your career plans become clearer. You could go on to work in a diverse range of industries and jobs, from the civil service to large multinationals, working in anything from management and HR to advertising and marketing. We also have students who go on work in family businesses and are able to bring new insights and experiences.
