Specifically designed for students who have already obtained a HND or equivalent qualification, the BA (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management allows you to top up to a full bachelor degree in less than year.
Underpinned by the key principles of business through a set of core business modules, you will also learn the importance of supply chain management in the current business world. The success of businesses and organisations is, to a major extent, dependent upon having effective and beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to explore the benefits of collaboration in managing supply chains, as well as investigating the importance of developing and managing strategic business relationships from outsourcing to e-commerce.
The BA (Hons) Business and Supply Chain Management will examine core aspects of business such as business strategy and communication in a global context, whilst also getting the chance to conduct an investigation into a business problem that allows you to apply your business acumen to a real life scenario.
In addition to studying four core business modules that will broaden your understanding of how businesses operate, you will also study two additional modules specialising in supply chain management. These specialist modules will allow you to explore the importance of efficient and effective supply chains and the strategic business relationships that can benefit a supply chain from outsourcing to e-commerce.
Core business modules:
- International Business
- Business Strategy
- Business Research Project
- Business Communications
Specialist supply chain management modules:
- Strategic Procurement and Commercial Relationships
- Supply Chain Management Risk and Sustainability
Teaching
There are some traditional lectures, but the majority of your learning will rely on interactive seminars, supported by online study materials. We also arrange an induction programme, so you can get to know your tutors and other students before you start studying and hit the ground running on the first day of term. You will use the latest real-life data and case studies to help you learn, making your studies as relevant as possible to what you will experience in the workplace.
The University also has the The Procurement Best Practice Academy which carries out research and consultancy. This means that the latest research and industry best practice are used to teach students.
Assessment
You will usually have to complete coursework as you progress, and normally sit exams at the end of each academic year.
