This integrated Masters course combines undergraduate and postgraduate study over four years, meaning you will graduate with a single Masters-level degree. It is designed to provide you with the opportunity to study the subject in greater depth than would ordinarily be achieved during a standard three year undergraduate course.
You will benefit from a broad grounding in geography that explores a series of themes drawn from across the discipline. You can also choose to follow a route through the course that allows you to specialise in physical geography. Exploration of the rapidly developing and exciting field of geospatial technologies (including GIS, remote sensing and UAVs) is a consistent theme of the course. In your final year you will explore developments and debates at the forefront of geography as a discipline. You will learn and apply advanced geospatial techniques within the context of research, business, and in national and international disaster risk reduction and management.
This programme has been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education. The accreditation criteria require evidence that graduates from accredited programmes meet defined sets of learning outcomes, including subject knowledge, technical ability and transferable skills.
