Good fashion styling and visual imagery is key to the success of products, brands, media and celebrities. This three year course aims to teach you the creative, technical and business skills required by the industry whilst guiding you to develop your own individual talent through work experience and practical projects.
Students will graduate with a thorough understanding of how stylists work across different media in magazines, advertising, design, catwalk shows, digital media and e-commerce. Students underpin their practical work with study of relevant academic theory, helping them to develop a comprehensive, innovative and appropriate visual language informed by a strong understanding of styling’s historical and contemporary contexts.
Student learning is aided by free access to specialist hair and make-up studios. These studios include airbrush guns, studio lights and other industry-standard fixtures. Solent’s media academy boasts high-spec photography studios and IT facilities, as well as a range of the latest editing software.
