The BSc (Hons) Banking, Finance and Investment course helps prepare you for a career in a variety of financial institutions including banks, investment management, consultancy and equity trading.
Covering three distinct themes: Banking, Finance and Investment, this degree will allow you the opportunity to gain an in-depth knowledge in a variety of contexts, from investing and trading in equity markets, international financial markets, corporate finance theory and banking in an international context.
You’ll have access to our excellent facilities, including trading room facilities, simulation software and market data used in the finance sector providing an added dimension to your learning.

What you will study?
You’ll study six modules that have been designed to provide you with an advanced understanding of banking, finance and investment with an international perspective. You will study the following modules:
- Banking in an International Context
- Corporate Governance in Financial Institutions
- Principles of Corporate Finance
- International Financial Management
- Theory and Practice of Securities Trading
- Debt, Investment and Risk
Teaching
Our student-focused approach is a great way to engage with the subject, the tutors and your fellow students. You will be taught using a variety of approaches including practical classes, workshops and computer based laboratory sessions which is led by the practical nature of the subject areas studied. Students will be exposed to a number of finance related tools which are used to examine empirical data on financial securities and portfolios, and the use of a share and commodity trading simulation in order to gain experience of interpreting market information.
Assessment
You will be assessed through written and practical assignments and time constrained set exercises.
