We will also provide you with an introduction to a broad range of civil legal issues where you will get both an insight and an appreciation for the ways in which the law impacts on the business world.
There will also be the chance for you to explore a range of organisational issues that you may encounter in your career. You’ll get the chance to take managerial, critical and feminist perspectives to business issues. Not only that, you’ll understand how people and organisations function in individual, group and organisational levels, exploring topics such as motivation, leadership and teamwork.
Alongside these areas, we will also explore the philosophies which underlie marketing. As part of this exploration, there will be a strong emphasis on integrating digital and traditional concepts as well as understanding the real-life application of these concepts.
All assessment is designed to allow you to demonstrate what you’ve learned, and to make sure you’re developing the knowledge and skills you need to complete the course. You can expect an interesting mix of coursework, essays, exams and activity-based assignments. Your coursework could include problem-solving activities, consultancy projects, presentations as well as group or individual reports. You’ll learn all about the factors that may affect a firm or even a countries economic performance and be able to understand how economists define and measure these factors. As you come to discuss the theoretical explanations offered by economists and social scientists, you’ll develop your understanding of the theory and its importance to the world of business and decision making.
We will also begin to explore the world of econometrics, where you’ll get a sound understanding of how to harness data and understand statistical relationships among many different variables and their importance in business.
