COURSE OVERVIEW
Master’s degree in Advanced Practice in Health Care is designed for experienced healthcare practitioners who want to consolidate their skills and develop to an advanced level.
You will develop enhanced assessment, diagnostic and disease management skills and have the opportunity to carry out studies for non-medical prescribing.
Throughout your studies, you will refine critical research and analytical skills in relation to clinical practice and develop professional reflective practice techniques.

The course is delivered through our College of Human and Health Sciences, giving you the benefit of our extensive cross-disciplinary teaching and research expertise. According to the most recent Research Excellence Framework in 2014-2021, over 75% of research carried out at the college was of international or world-leading quality.
Our course consists of core modules which are mapped against the four pillars of advanced practice which are set out within Welsh advanced practice framework. This equips you with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop your practice.
We offer two intakes per year, one in September and one in March.
As practitioners working in clinical practice we constantly review the course to reflect the current needs of the health care community. Our academic team is made up of professionals who are active in their specialities including advanced practitioners and a medical practitioner. We work in partnership with local health boards and the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust in the selection of all applicants for this programme.
We have strong links with professional practice and academic research networks in Europe and around the world, so your learning is informed by the latest policy and practice developments.
