If you’re passionate about sport and think you’ve got what it takes for a future in the industry, this Sports Journalism degree can help you achieve your goals. You will gain live reporting experience at the highest level, including the chance to meet and interview top athletes and professional sportsmen and women. You’ll learn highly transferable media communication skills as well building an industry-relevant portfolio which will showcase your capabilities to future employers.

We have excellent contacts with sports companies locally and nationally, allowing students a range of experiences, from guest lectures to work experience, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to enter the world of sports journalism.
What you will study
Working with the latest equipment, you’ll have access to our HD television studio, newsrooms, and local and student radio stations.
You’ll learn how to find, write, edit and produce news and features for print media, radio, television and the internet. To support this, you’ll learn about media law and ethics, and know how to apply this knowledge to your journalism.
Work experience is a key part of your study, supported by a major project and dissertation in the final year. You’ll also look into live sports reporting and produce a
