This part-time course takes a practical approach, linking work-based problems to personal and professional development. It is research-based and equal to a PhD, but has been designed to meet the needs of those working in the creative professions.
The Professional Doctorate Programme (PDP) offers three degrees in the School of Art & Design. They are:
- Doctor of Digital Media
- Doctor of Fashion Industry
- Doctor of Fine Art.
What you’ll study
The course will help you to explore the relationship between theory and practice. It will give you an opportunity to develop judgement, foresight and problem analysis, and help you to use theoretical and philosophically tuned forensic skills for your research material.
You’ll develop your ability to design and implement a research project in your professional and educational fields. You’ll also develop as a reflective and reflexive practitioner who has the adaptability to deal with organisational change and uncertainty.
