During the course, students are given the opportunity to develop, run and manage events. This allows them to try a range of industry roles and find out where they feel they thrive the most.
The course team’s extensive links with industry have also enabled students to gain an insight into both event agencies and music festivals (Isle of Wight Festival, Blissfields). This exposure to commercial events, industry events, and active event management practitioners is critical in providing a deeper insight into the industry.
Solent Works, the University’s student run events agency, gives students the opportunity to be part of a growing business, delivering projects on behalf of real clients. Students who choose to get involved develop and practise a range of valuable skills including working to specified brief and managing client relationships.
