Want to combine your interest in fashion with a career in PR and communication? Solent University’s fashion promotion and communication programme can help you to improve your knowledge of PR, styling, marketing, photography and creative writing – following the fashion process from original concept all the way through to the promotion of a final product.
On this professionally-focused course, students are encouraged to develop their talent and skills for a career in fashion promotion and communication. Students will get to grips with the dynamics of fashion practice and explore how fashion brands are promoted.
Degree studies are reinforced with a strong focus on work based learning. Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours of work based learning in their final year. For many students this is a gateway into graduate employment.
The course has good industry links. This has enabled previous students to gain work placements and work on live projects through our in-house creative agency, Solent Creatives.
What does this course lead to?
Course graduates have gone on to roles such as fashion intern, PR assistant intern, womenswear buying assistant and fashion assistant at companies such as TopShop, Next, Grazia, Ted Baker, M&S, Kurt Geiger and London fashion week.
Who is this course for?
This course is perfectly suited to students who aspire to work in public relations, copywriting, visual merchandising, trend forecasting, styling or buying within the fashion industry. Applicants should have strong communications skills and a good command of written English.
