Pure mathematics is one of the most timeless and international disciplines in existence. It is both ancient and modern and forms the foundations upon which the modern world is built.
Contemporary science and business are underpinned by pure mathematics, and our degrees reflect a connection with the real world of industry.
This three-year BSc degree covers a broad base of classical and modern mathematics. It covers a range of material including pure mathematics, applied mathematics and mathematics for finance.
You can progress to focus on one aspect of the subject, or continue to cover a breadth of material.

YOUR PURE MATHEMATICS EXPERIENCE
During your time at Swansea you will have the chance to explore the number theory that Pythagoras studied, the Financial Mathematics that the stock market relies on, and subjects from probability analysis and nonlinear partial differential equations, to noncommutative geometry and algebraic topology.
While attending our new £31 million world-class Computational Foundry, your studies will be undertaken through a combination of lectures, tutorials and seminars.
Our state-of-the-art teaching facilities include research and development laboratories, as well as networking and inspiration spaces.
You will learn to use logical reasoning and construct rigorous arguments alongside oral and written communication skills.
We will train you for a range of careers, provide a foundation for postgraduate study and research.
