COURSE OVERVIEW
The Postgraduate Certificate in Translation Technology gives a valuable Continuing Professional Development opportunity to practising translators wishing to gain or update translation technology skills.
Through in-depth group work and individual study you obtain hands-on experience of industry standard computer-assisted translation, machine translation, software localisation and terminology management tools.
You also have the chance to gain skills in public service Interpreting or digital publishing, or you may wish to take a more academic module in the history and theory of translation.
This full-time only course contains 60 credits (30 ECTS) taken over two semesters.

YOUR TRANSLATION TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE
You will attend a class in Swansea a maximum of two mornings or afternoons per week during the two 11-week semesters.
Most classes last two hours and are supported by home-based private study using demonstration versions of software, with collaboration undertaken online. You are eligible to buy full versions of software at reduced prices.
You have the chance to take all three levels of official tests for the SDL Trados Certification Programme for Translators at no additional cost.
Modules studied include Translation Tools and Translation Technologies, with one further option selected in consultation with course directors, to ensure it is right for you.
