Why study this subject?
Our BSc (Hons) Criminology and Forensic Studies combines studying the core areas of crime and the criminal justice system with forensic studies. It also covers core areas such as biomedical criminology, forensic analysis of Serious & Organised Crime, forensic psychology, forensic examination and anthropology.
This course looks at how forensic studies can further our understanding of criminal behaviour and crime scenes, and will give you the awareness and understanding of the social, developmental, cognitive and biological dimensions of the subject.
What will I Study?
On this programme, you will gain a solid grounding in criminological research methods and practice as well as current forensic thought and processes. You will also develop valuable critical thinking skills, including analytic and logical reasoning in addition to academic studies.
The course uses innovative projects to help you develop different ways to learn and gain transferable work-place skills such as; group discussions, role play, presentations, videos to provide a context for use of knowledge gained in plenary sessions and in private study, case study problems, problem solving, questions and research activities, as well as the more traditional learning routes such as dissertation and reflection essays.
