This top-up degree builds on your prior study and experience, enabling you to advance in the exciting, fast-paced, world of marketing.
This is a top-up course, which means you’ll be looking to build on previous qualifications (such as HND, BTEC or a foundation degree) to achieve a bachelor’s degree in just one academic year. Perhaps you’re already in marketing but feel you need a degree to progress further, or you might want to move into marketing for the first time.

Marketing around the world is currently undergoing a series of fundamental and far-reaching social and technological changes. You’ll learn the science of marketing management, consumer behaviour, customer relationships, and communications (including digital). You’ll grow into a highly skilled marketing professional , able to create comprehensive marketing strategies across a range of channels and market types and to develop new solutions to real-life business problems.

Flexibility
Students on this course come from a diverse range of educational backgrounds and have varying levels of industry experience. Your previous studies don’t need to be related to marketing: past students have come from a range of disciplines, including science. You may have recently completed a qualification, or you might have been working in industry for some years and wish to return to studying. We accept a variety of prior qualifications, including HND, BTEC or a foundation degree, and there are 2 intakes per year to offer greater choice to international students and those in employment.

Business and consumer relationships are finely tuned, technology is used to its best advantage, and advanced practice is continually being developed. Plus, our London campus is in the heart of the Square Mile, so we rub shoulders with some of the world’s biggest corporations and retail brands as well as some of the most edgy and innovative business formats – including flagship stores, pop-ups, virtual businesses and streets markets. Tutors
The leader of this course is a Senior Fellow of the HE Academy and winner of the British Academy of Management and Emerald Advanced Authorship Scheme. She holds a PhD and remains research-active. She is also a research committee member at Coventry University London. Several others are also active in research and/or consultancy, which feeds into their teaching; they have recently presented papers at the Academy of Marketing and the British Academy of Management.
Internationalisation
You will address every subject from a global perspective, understanding how marketing differs in different geographical and cultural contexts. You should graduate with an excellent awareness of issues in global business and marketing strategy.
International experience opportunities
Every module of this course is internationalised, so you’ll take a global approach to all of your studies. Your tutors are likely to arrange an optional overseas field trip, during which you might engage with businesses, major events and/or universities. In your final term, you have the option of an internship, which you could arrange to do overseas.
You will study among students from a wide variety of cultures and nationalities, bringing with them different perceptions and ideas shaped by their home cultures. All students are encouraged to share these, for the benefit of everyone else. Your tutors will also bring their own experiences of working, researching or consulting internationally.
